Fahid Island: Abu Dhabi’s Coastal Wellness Destination
Fahid Island, a visionary project by Aldar Developments, is Abu Dhabi’s first dedicated coastal wellness community. Strategically located between Yas and Saadiyat islands, the development spans 3.4 million square metres and boasts 11 kilometres of pristine coastline.
The initial launch includes Fahid Beach Residences, a collection of seven mid-rise buildings housing 464 units. These range from one- to five-bedroom apartments to ground-floor townhouses and exclusive penthouses. Each structure is crafted with white cantilevered balconies, mimicking ocean waves and enhancing sea views.
The island is envisioned as a wellness-centric, car-optional destination. It features 15km of shaded pedestrian walkways and cycle routes. Residents enjoy easy access to the beach, with all homes within a 250m radius of green space or shore. A linear landscaped hill known as Berm Park runs between the two main districts, providing a buffer for noise while hosting a running track, yoga zones, and shaded rest areas.
Anchoring the beachfront, Coral Drive Boulevard introduces boutique retail, cafés, art galleries, a ballet school, and a five-star resort with a marina. A British curriculum school is in the works. The Palmary wellness club will include racket sports and state-of-the-art fitness amenities exclusively for residents.
Emphasising active outdoor living, the island will feature a water sports hub for paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and night swimming. The natural northern beaches contrast with the preserved southern mangrove ecosystem. Sustainability is integral to the design, with 30% of the land preserved as open green space and LEED Platinum pre-certification achieved.
Fahid Island’s proximity to Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi International Airport, and ADGM adds convenience for both residents and tourists. Property sales are expected to commence shortly after Eid, with high demand anticipated across residential segments.
